The Challenge:
Wildfire FX is one of the leading suppliers of lighting and visual effects in
America and abroad. They provide lighting effects fixtures to movie studios
and amusement parks, as well as specialty paints, inks, and novelty products
to the general public. Wildfire had an existing ecommerce website, but the
graphic
design
was mediocre
and
the
shopping cart was difficult and cumbersome to use and maintain. They wanted
to completely re-design the website and replace their current MIVA shopping
cart with something
more flexible, functional, and user-friendly.
The Solution:
Our design team give the website a complete face lift, creating a look-and-feel
that is progressiave, cinematic and professional. We
performed a functional requirements analysis on Wildfire's ecommerce needs
and compared
MIVA with
a new ecommerce
product called Ablecommerce. We successfully implemented AbleCommerce into
the website and developed a software module to handle custom pricing for
complex products in Wildfire's extensive catalog. The upgraded ecommerce
solution, coupled with a custom design shopping
cart made searching for the right model or paint color fast and easy.
The Outcome:
Wildfire FX how has a professional, user-friendly website that contains
a robust shopping cart capable of handling large volumes
of both domestic and international orders. Wildfire's online
sales had increased ten-fold sense the redesign, and its new web presence
helped
to promote a more established image for the company.
