CHAD HAHN PRINCIPAL, TECHNOLOGIST

Chad Hahn brings over 12 years of experience in software development, programming and business development to the Square One team. Chad moved to Los Angeles after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Trinity University in San Antonio with degrees in finance and computer science. With him, he brought a passion for web design and software development. Early in his career, Chad worked for a major accounting firm while concurrently pursuing his interest in working for a venture consulting firm. Shortly thereafter, and having experienced various career opportunities in media, design, finance and other business ventures, Chad started Square One Solutions, Inc. with his business partner Doris Mao Lin. Though the course of his career, Chad has worked with such brand name clients as NBC Universal, ActiVision, Decurion, and Move.com. Chad is an experienced technologist, with expert knowledge of UML , design patterns and software architectures.  He is fluent with multiple programming languages, databases and frameworks.  Chad is a member of the advisory board in the Department of Computer Science at Santa Monica College.

DORIS MAO LIN PRINCIPAL, CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Doris Mao Lin brings over 13 years of creative design experience in branding, print, marketing, web and new media to the Square One team. Doris fostered her passion for the creative arts and art history at UCLA in the Fine Arts program and began her professional career at a successful web design firm while still only in her senior year. After graduating from UCLA Magna Cum Laude, Doris expanded her professional portfolio to include advertising and print before enjoying a great run as a staff designer at E! Online. Seeking to indulge her entrepreneurial spirit, Doris set out on a 5-year journey as a freelance designer in advertising, branding and web design prior to meeting Chad Hahn and partnering to create Square One Solutions.

GEOFF HORSEY CHIEF SOFTWARE ARCHITECT

Geoff has some of the strongest software design expertise in the industry, with over 12 years of experience. He has managed the design and development of large enterprise software applications at such companies as NBC Universal, 21st Century Auto Insurance and Move.com. Geoff follows the software design patterns of such proven industry stalwarts as Martin Fowler and the "Gang of 4". He brings creativity and an attention to detail to all software projects within Square One.

WINSTON OLSON TECHNICAL ARCHITECT

A graduate of Harvard University with 11 years of experience architecting web-based solutions to a diverse set of business problems ranging from the first online college campus recruiting tools to a web 2.0 CMS for ABC Television to program video simultaneously to multiple large-scale display surfaces in Times Square, Winston Olson brings a depth of knowledge in both the pitfalls and best practices of the software development cycle in addition to a breadth of experience with disparate technology platforms and languages. Having worked on projects with several large media companies and Internet start-ups, Winston is happy to be a part of the creative technology force at Square One.

SHANE NEUGASS BUSINESS ANALYSIS / UX DESIGN

Shane Neugass comes to Square One with 13 years of creative, marketing, communications and UI design experience. A native of Los Angeles, Shane graduated Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with degrees in Psychology and Humanities with an emphasis in the arts. His education and interest in human understanding and the arts were the perfect precursors for a substantial career designing user interface for several video-on-demand applications, the IA and functionality development for multi-million page websites and ultimately the management of creative operations for a global division of Disney Consumer Products. After six years with the Walt Disney Company, Shane was engaged by Chad and Doris to join the team and has been a key asset for Square One’s engagement with NBC Universal. Shane takes great pride and enjoyment in performing business analysis and UX and is an iRise simulation expert.

GRACE QUEK SOFTWARE / UI ENGINEER

Grace Quek is an experienced web developer specializing in the integration of Ajax enabled interfaces, database-driven backend applications and Web 2.0 components. She graduated from University of Southern California with a Bachelors of Fine Arts and pursued further interests in computer programming immediately upon graduation. Grace’s affinity for visual arts combined with her extensive software development skills allow her to produce user-friendly applications that are both intuitive and elegant.

JULIE JEN DESIGNER / UI INTEGRATOR

Julie Jen is a jack-of-all-trades whose web-mastery includes design, site integration and flash/interactive. Julie attended UCLA for her undergraduate degree in political science before exploring her love for web-design and multimedia through continued education and employment with the Design Communication Arts Program at UCLA Extension. After three years of study and work experience with UCLA extension and numerous concurrent freelancing jobs, Julie joined the Square One team where she works closely with Doris on graphic design, HTML/CSS coding, and developing interactive flash components. She has been an integral part of the team and was instrumental in the design and development of all projects for NBC Universal.
